Linda Naiman presents a tapestry of art, images and ideas designed to inform and inspire, interspersed with thought provoking questions and dialogue. By asking “what is art for?” we’ll discuss themes of power, spirituality and prestige that have occurred in visual art from Michelangelo to the 21st Century. We will look at how artists have changed our world view and influences social change; and examine why Popes, Kings, Queens, Emperors and Titans have used art to forward their agendas. We will also look at the changing role of art in today’s corporations. What can we learn from art that we can apply to our personal lives or our work lives?
About the speaker:
Linda Naiman is founder of Creativity at Work.com, and recognized globally for pioneering arts-based learning as a catalyst for developing skills in creativity, innovation, and collaborative leadership in organizations. She calls this work Corporate Alchemy. Linda is co-author of Orchestrating Collaboration at Work, and has spoken about the arts, design and leadership at US Navy Leadership Symposiums, The Banff Centre Leadership Lab, and Singapore Management University. Organizations who have sought out Linda for her expertise include American Express, AstraZeneca, BP International, and Intel. Linda is a graduate of Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design and holds a BFA from California College of the Arts. As a life and business coach Linda, helps clients sculpt their careers, compose their lives and design their futures. She is a life-long artist and believes in making life and work a work of art.
