Philosopher’s Cafe: How Do You Develop Creative Resilience?

Resilience

How Do You Develop Creative Resilience? Join in the discussion at the Philosopher’s Cafe at Unity of Vancouver

Date: March 12, 2013
Time: 7:30 pm
Place: 5840 Oak Street, Vancouver

(On the east side of Oak Street between 41st and 42nd and near the Cambie Street Canada Line.)

“Resilience is a reflex, a way of facing and understanding the world that is deeply etched into a person’s mind and soul. Resilient people and companies face reality with staunchness, make meaning of hardship instead of crying out in despair, and improvise solutions from thin air. Others do not.”
– Diane Coutu, Harvard Business Review, May 2002

I will be facilitating a discussion on Resilience, Creativity, and Spirituality, based on some of my own experiences in overcoming adversity, and will share research findings from the world of positive psychology and business.

Questions for discussion include:

  • What does it mean to you to be resilient?
  • When something goes wrong, how do you bounce back? What practices help you develop creative resiliency?
  • What lessons in strength and flexibility have you learned? What wisdom could you share?
